A little collection of my vintage children's books I've dug up through various wanderings.

The Boat Book by Joe Kaufman is pure 1960’s seafaring joy! I love the simplicity and the straightforwardness of it. I grew up in Charleston, SC, right on the coast; so every summer was filled with evening boat rides, crunchy beach hair, and peeling, sunburnt skin.  When I found this book in a thrift store in my new neighborhood in New York, it made me crave the smell of salty air, and sunscreen, and even that wet, dirty beach dog smell. So, I promptly jumped on the Staten Island Ferry to squelch this homesick feeling. It helped a bit, I think hopping on that bad ass viking boat would have been better though.
